I turned 35!
I'm blessed to see another birthday. Last year, I wished for love. It didn't happen. Actually, it did, kind of. But it ended in heartbreak just as fast as it came. This year, I wished for peace. Peace for myself, peace for my family and friends, peace for our nation, and peace for the world.
I'm entering into 35 more calm and with fewer expectations. My goal is to simply live. Live happily. What is meant to happen will. No more pressure to have this "thing" by this "age" because it isn't realistic. And to be honest, I drove myself crazy with it last year. No more outside pressure from other people about what I need. I need peace. I don't need pressure. I don't need someone else's vision of what my happy life looks like.
Peace. I am happy. I am blessed. I am grateful. I am 35!
In an attempt to not do much, I had planned to attend a brunch that was being held on my birthday. It was perfect. Unlimited mimosas, food, and entertainment. Then it was canceled for whatever reason. Still cool. My family and friends decided to bring brunch to me. While the mimosas weren't unlimited, they were plenty! My house was full of love, great energy, amazing food and TONS of laughter. Hey 35. So far, you have been beautiful! I am so very blessed to be surrounded by people who genuinely love me. They love me just as I am. I love them back.
It seemed like every 5 minutes I was saying "let's take a picture," and then something would happen to make us laugh and we didn't take pictures of anything! We enjoyed hours of each others' company and to me that was everything. The memories will forever live on in my heart.
To all of my family and friends that made my birthday special, I say THANK YOU! I love you with every ounce of my being.
As usual, I made my own cake. Everyone always questions why. I like making my own cake. That's why lol. There were offers to buy cake, but I wanted to make it. And this year I had a little help from my mom and my best friend Tamiko. So, WE made my cake. The Swiss Meringue came out right on the first attempt! Shocked me! It was delicious! Chocolate cake with a caramel Swiss meringue and and adorned with pecans, mini turtles and Riesens. It was a hit. There is only one slice left and I plan on eating that today.
I crafted these wine glasses! I purchased the glasses from Dollar Tree and had my friend Lucy help me with the design. She had to leave me and I was left to finish it on my own. It took FOREVER! But they were a cute and inexpensive way to say thank you for celebrating my birthday with me. We kept them full of mimosas as long as we could.
Thank you all for the well wishes, the love, the gifts, and the cashapp funds!
XOXO
