Did I miss this scene twice? I didn't see it in the movie! |
I saw Avengers: Infinity War the weekend it opened. It was long, coming in at around 2 hours and 30 minutes. I went alone and had a mostly enjoyable experience. Aside from the guy sitting next to me telling me every time he had to pee.
After seeing the movie, I needed consoling. We. Just. Got. Black. Panther. And with a snap of his grossly huge fingers, Thanos wiped him away!
Ok, I jumped too far ahead.
Thanos. The big bad daddy of the Universe. He wants to do population control so that the Universe does not cease to be. He believes it's worth it to maintain sustainability. By killing half of the population. In order to do this, he must collect all of the Infinity Stones and then all power is his. Read more about the stones here.
We don't want to see the black man die first (bye Heimdall). It hurt when Loki is strangled to death, kind of. You had to sacrifice Gamora?! Dude!
I have watched all of the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies and a lot of the tv shows. I'm vested in these characters. And here comes Thanos. We've heard about him before. Gamora thought she killed him in Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 1. He sent Loki to New York in Avengers, which made Loki think he had some feelings for him, but clearly not.
Dr. Strange sees every scenario and it all was bad! He had no choice but to give him the Time stone or everybody was gonna die.
I was stuck on this movie both times I saw it. Like a deer in headlights stuck. The second time I saw it I think my feelings were hurt more.
Peter Parker takes the cake. He knew he was going. He didn't want to go.
I've talked to several people regarding the movie and overall, all of us needed a support group after. A few people didn't get it. Then I would ask them questions about the other movies in the MCU and they wouldn't understand. That formed their overall dislike. So I recommend watching all of the MCU movies. Yes, even the Hulk.
Speaking of the Hulk. That dude got the Green beat out of him in the beginning of the movie and refused to show up after! This was comical and very disappointing! But I guess if you don't wanna die, you don't wanna die.
Most people were upset because 1. Black Panther was among the departed and WE JUST GOT HIM! Well, we just got him in a solo movie. and 2. the "good" guys didn't win. Can they win them all? 3. Y'all could have kept the foolery OUT OF WAKANDA! You and I both know in the next Avengers, they are coming back stronger than ever. I think that the "departed" may be stuck in the soul stone or they all were beamed to some far away planet. I'm hopeful that we will get them back.
We are happy to see Steve Rogers return, Tony Stark is still, well, Tony Stark (poor Pepper). Vision gets his whole entire ass kicked (and saved by his girlfriend, Scarlet Witch) and then has to die a horrible death, twice. Thor is my boo. There is so much to talk about!
I don't read the comics so I'm unsure of how the movies line up with the comic stories. We saw Nick Fury send a message to Captain Marvel before he departed, so the next few movies should be very interesting!
See a complete listing of the upcoming movies here. I'm here for all of the universes! I can't keep up with the comics, too much, but I can watch the movies!
I know my thoughts are all over the place with this review. So are my feelings! I look forward to what's next! Hopefully our heroes will return!
XOXO,
RoJo
