Baby Magic is Here! My Birth Story

Princesses get their way. And true to form, my little princess decided that she, and only she would be in control of when she arrived. Forget about me or the doctors trying to schedule ANYTHING! **This is a long post that goes into detail. Read at your own risk.** On Sunday, July scratch that. On Saturday, July 20th, I was having cramps. They weren't too painful and were coming only about once every hour. Honestly, I thought I had gas. I had a good bit of visitors that day and told everybody that I felt like I was going to have the baby soon. I was already on bed rest and wasn't doing much. Thanks to some awesome friends, I had enough food that all I had to do was warm it and eat it. After all of the company left, I really just wanted to lie down. So I went to bed. I was awakened maybe 3 times during the night with these "cramps." The next morning I got out of bed about 10:30am (late for me) and took a shower, hoping that the heat would soothe me.

Rest Assured!

37 Weeks Pregnant Hey guys! This week has been full of tears and fears. And yes, I know it is only Tuesday. I had my 37 week appointment yesterday. I felt kind of off when I went in for my appointment, but I didn't know what it was. Nothing in particular was bothering me, I just didn't feel "right." So I get to the doctor and I had to wait almost 30 minutes past my appointment time. This aggravated me. But nonetheless I had to make sure my sugar dumpling was doing ok. I got in the exam room and gave the usual urine sample and got my blood pressure taken. Oh boy, my pressure was high. The nurse thought it was the cuff she was using. So two cuffs later, it was still high. I was told to lay down - on my left side of course, and after a few minutes it was down to normal. I'm thinking PHEW!!! Well, the doctor came in and gave me results from my glorious 24 hour urine test. And there was the dreaded protein. It wasn't enough to make the doctor too concerned bu

Quick and Simple

These days the last thing I'm thinking about is cooking. Anything. I just don't want to do it. I don't want to stand in front of the stove, I don't want to prep food and I definitely don't want to wash dishes. But I gotta eat. Being that I'm going to have to take some unpaid leave while I'm out, I had to make myself stop eating out so much. I should own my own Zaxby's by now! So now I am constantly thinking of ways to prepare quick, one dish meals. Chili is one of my favorite go-to meals and I already have some of that stashed in the freezer. Last week, I wanted some chicken parmesan. I thought up this quick little dish and it was good! And it was a simple casserole that didn't take much time to prepare. I didn't measure...just winged it so these are guesstimates Ingredients 2 pounds of chicken breasts - cubed 1 tablespoon Italian Seasoning 1 tablespoon Olive Oil 1 clove minced garlic Salt and Pepper to your liking Half a jar of ma

Dropping Like It's Hot

Hey guys! So I had my 36 week appointment yesterday. My doctor did not do a cervix check...she usually starts at 38 weeks. I guess the doctor that I saw last week starts earlier on her patients because she checked me...which only added to my angst. Furthering my frustrations, my doctor is still in a power chair and not able to bear weight on her leg. What is this going to mean for my delivery? Well, if everything goes ok, she will be able to deliver. If I need a C-Section, not so much. My birth plan consists of delivering a healthy baby. That's it. If we have to make a hole for her to come out of, so be it. I'm also just going to see how it goes without an epidural. If it gets too intense I will get one, if not, I won't. 3 more weeks. My baby is dropping deeper into my pelvic area so bathroom breaks come about every 45 minutes. Poor little bladder. I measured 34 1/2 weeks yesterday...which to me seemed super weird but she said it was ok. They are watching me closely bec

You're Not Human Without Fears

36 Weeks Pregnant Every fear I could ever imagine has come to surface. I am mostly excited. But I'm also very scared. God is putting me in charge of somebody else's life. That's some scary ish. I know that ultimately we will be fine. When I say I'm scared, most people think that I'm referring to delivering. I'm not scared of delivering. I look forward to it and I've served this little lady with her 30 day eviction notice. She has to get out! Poor Little Fox Tattoo LOL I've been pretty calm throughout my entire pregnancy. Even when people think I should flip out - I didn't. Sure there have been a few incidents here and there...the worst being the airport fiasco, but overall I've been pretty level-headed and not all that emotional. I've accepted my situation for exactly what it is. But it is scary. Although I was raised in a single parent home, I didn't want that for my kid. But it is what it is and that is something I have no co
