Say It ANT So! And a GIVEAWAY!!

Hola folks! If you have been a reader of Chocolate Kisses for a while, you know that at the end of last year a few major things happened to me. One of them being that I sold my old house and bought a new one. When I was getting the house inspected, I noticed several ant piles. Big ant piles. It's warmed up in Columbia and the ant piles are still there. But I haven't seen any ants. And it's been raining. So this is why it has taken me so long to even open the boxes of strips. I didn't put any outside. But I did use the strips in my garage because a critter seems to ALWAYS be in there.   I used the Roach Killing Bait Strips...and they work! Don't believe me? Look. A cock-a-roach. Dead. On the garage floor. The sticky substance on the back of the strips didn't really work for me so I just placed them strategically around. It was also hard for me to break them off the plastic so I just ended up cutting them with scissors. Here are some specs about

Chocolate Kisses is now on Facebook!

I bit the bullet and created a Facebook page. Why did it take me so long to do it? Well...I don't know honestly. So far it seems like it will be easy to keep up with since it is linked with my personal page. In an effort to be sure that everyone that attempts to enter my giveaways is recorded, the giveaways will now be a combination of blog and Facebook comments. After the last giveaway I had a lot of folks contact me telling me that they entered, but I never received the entries and that is just not good! So I've held off on doing any others until I could figure out a way to be sure I can receive all entries. I have FOUR giveaways coming soon. Just as soon as I can do the product reviews and get the posts up they will be live SO STAY TUNED!!! Look to the right and you will see a little button to LIKE Chocolate Kisses on Facebook. If you aren't on Facebook, don't fret! You will still be entered by means of participation on the actual blog! I love you all dearly

Recipe FAIL!

This doesn't happen to me much, but it does happen from time to time and I am woman enough to admit when things just don't go right. I am a lover of almost all things pasta. But this right just wasn't right. I'm actually upset that I wasted a really good jar of Bertolli sauce. Not to mention the other ingredients. As it stands, I love Pinterest. I think it is one of the greatest sites ever invented and falls somewhere under Google. If I have just an itch of a thought about a recipe, 9 times out of 10 I can find it on Pinterest. So, I wanted a baked spaghetti, but not the traditional kind...something...different. I came across this recipe and was so excited because it was so simple and I seriously had all of the ingredients on hand. Double plus, right? Wrong. Along with being simple, it didn't take much time. Which is always good for me, as long as it tastes good. I found this recipe for Baked Cream Cheese Spaghetti Casserole. Doesn't that title jus

People I'm Pregnant With

The weirdest thing to me right now is when people say "I can't believe YOU'RE pregnant!" This isn't an Immaculate Conception. I had sex and BOOM, made a baby. Maybe they think my girly parts don't work? Or worse, maybe they think I don't have girly parts?! Or maybe it's a little side-eye saying "UH HUH you got caught up too!" Or maybe people thought I didn't want kids? I don't know. Whichever the case maybe, yes, I'm pregnant. 24 weeks and 2 days to be exact. It's even more weird when my close friends say "Girl, I forgot you were pregnant!" or "I still can't believe you're pregnant, until I see you...but then I really still can't believe it." Maybe I'm not as maternal as I thought I was? *Kanye Shrugs* Speaking of Kanye, I think it is cool that I'm pregnant alongside some pretty popular people. I just found out today that Halle Berry is expecting her second child and I got really ex

One of the joys of being pregnant is how taste buds have a mind of their own. This past Sunday, I woke up about 4am hungry. I knew I wanted something smothered...but couldn't work it out with the taste buds so I went back to sleep. About 7am I got up and decided that I had better find SOMETHING to cook for dinner that would please my palate. What did I come up with? Curry Chicken. But it was nearing time for me to get ready for church so it was going to have to go in the crockpot. I had never made curry in a crockpot. Actually my curry making experiences could be counted on a few fingers. I had never made it and LOVED it so it wasn't often attempted. Hence this brand new package of Curry Powder that was in my cabinet...for um...a while. I LOVE World Market! I actually didn't notice it was HOT until I took this picture. Glad I didn't have a scotch bonnet to throw in there because I would have not been able to eat it. And that would have been a sin and a shame!

Wobble Baby, Wobble Baby!

23 Weeks and 1 Day Pregnant And today was the first time I "wobbled" and not in the sense of the line dance! In talking with people that have carried a child, some are like "Girllll by the time I was five months I was waddling like a duck!" I wondered when it would start. It may have started earlier and I just didn't notice it. But today, I definitely noticed because I was walking next to someone and almost bumped them! It is hard work growing a baby! Although now I am enjoying my pregnancy, it has been a struggle! I seem to reach limits rather standing, sitting or laying in one position too long. And now I have to go and buy a footstool. I thought I would only need it if my feet/ankles became swollen, but that is not the case. My feet seem to want to put themselves in an elevated position without me even thinking about it. I have listened to EVERYTHING that EVERYBODY has told me, but every person is different (some of you mommas seem to forge
