Faith the Size of a Mustard Seed

For the past 8 months or so I have been dealing with some health issues-new and old.  It has been a long journey that will hopefully come to an end this week.  Many, many years ago I was diagnosed with Acid Reflux disease and it seems that no medicine will help.  My doctor suggests giving up all the foods that I love, which will never happen.  So this week I go in to have an EGD done.  I haven't been nervous about it because I know that I am a child of God and everything will be fine...I'm praying that God guides the hands of the doctors that will be performing the procedure and that they don't punch a hole in my esophagus!

It is outpatient but they have to give me anesthesia - I. Hate. That. Stuff.  It seems like it always takes me days to recover from being out and I am a woman on a mission, I have things to do! LOL

So the second issue - which I have to admit made me a little nervous...but that too is in His hands...is a Cystoscopy.  Last year I was hospitalized becaus…

A Better Me, A Better You

A couple of weeks ago my supervisor forwarded my department this email about a free event for an IT community event.  I must be completely and totally honest, when I said I wanted to go it was half due to the fact that they were providing free lunch and the other half was because they were raffling an iPad.

They sent a million emails and with each email the event seemed to grow in length which totally discouraged me from going...only the offer of free lunch kept me motivated.  But then they hit me with the doozy that they would be serving pizza -I started the South Beach Diet about a week and a half ago and pizza is a no-no.  So at this point I was totally unmoved.

I didn't do any research on the speaker, the company or anything.  Since the majority of my department was on deck to go I didn't want to be a party pooper (or the one stuck behind to answer the phones).

This event was sooo much more than I could have ever hoped for.  I dozed off a couple of times in the beginning b…

Love...Lost?

So yesterday was Valentine's Day...a highly commercialized day filled with chocolate hearts, flowers and balloons.  I actually learned the history of St. Valentine (he secretly married soldiers that were forbid to wed and was jailed and beheaded for it). Gore. He was a prisoner for love...sometimes I feel that way.

Anywho, so I had a conversation with a dear male friend that could have gone on for days if we had allowed it. We spoke of the double standards for men and women and basically how women are supposed to carry themselves a certain way and not be promiscuous...but this does not apply to men since their clout comes from how many women they bed. WTF?! I was informed that, indeed, monogamy is past tense. In this convo we also discussed cheating and what in his male mind he considered to be such.  My jaw hit the floor!  Apparently if there is no emotional attachment there is no cheating. But mighty funny he argued that is only the case for men since there is no such thing as…
